Beaufort, South Carolina Tides
|

Like
the rest of the Lowcountry, Beaufort has eight-foot tides which
ebb and flow twice daily. The muddy banks of shallow rivers are
exposed at low tide, revealing oysters and a bounty of sea life.
Experienced sailors, kayakers, and boaters know to check the tide
chart before they head out so that they don't run into unexpectedly
shallow water in the local rivers and waterways.
Tides are a way of life along the south Atlantic coast, but they are an important force to keep track of if you're planning to spend the day out on the water.
Be sure to consult the tide chart below to keep track of the area's tides each month.

All tides shown for the Savannah river entrance. To calculate tide tables for Hilton Head Island, please use the following formulas: add 33 minutes for high tides and subtract 8 minutes for low tides. For Skull Creek North entrance, add 26 minutes for high tide and subtract 20 minutes for low tide. Harbour Town, add 9 minutes to high tide, and subtract 7 minutes for low tide. |
